Perhaps in an effort to prove that Florida Man doesn’t have a monopoly on crazy, a Wisconsin man decided to head on down to the local police department to retrieve a nunchuck- and methamphetamine-filled backpack he left behind at a library.

In the least surprising statement you’ll hear today, that Wisconsin man was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

A Rogue Officer

If we take Joel Mullin-Romo at his word, an unhappy ex-girlfriend “hacked his accounts, did a bunch of identity theft against him, is a drug dealer and a prostitute and tried to have him killed.” That makes sense – the nunchucks were obviously for self-defense. And the three small bags of meth? He told police he went to her home, got her phone and other “contraband,” and put it in his backpack.

Mullin-Romo also alleges he reported all the criminal activity to Green Bay Police, but had to take the matter into his own hands because they “did not do their job,” according to WBAY:

“Most people won’t show up and ask for it back if they know it has contraband in there,” Police Chief Dan Mauel said, “but this guy decided he wanted to get his meth back.” Maybe he also wanted the police to finally investigate his claims against his ex, as well.

No Good Luck

Google is not particularly kind to Mullin-Romo, who was arrested in 2008 for breaking into former Green Bay Packers running back Noah Herron’s home. But he still fared better than his accomplice that night: “According a criminal complaint, Herron was in an upstairs bedroom playing a video game and talking by phone with his girlfriend the night of May 30th when he heard someone break in and called police. He unscrewed the bedpost and hit one of them when the man came in the bedroom.” Mullin-Romo was sentenced to three and a-half years in prison for his role in the burglaries, and was still on probation when he was arrested this week.
